Emily Irene VanCamp initially aspired to become a professional actress however, she became intrigued after visiting Katie in the Ladies Room film set. When she was taking acting classes and directing, she was also offered guest roles on Canadian TV programs. Some of the TV series she was a part of include Are You scared of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp made a success in his career when being cast in Glory Days, the WB thriller. Even even though the show received great reviews, it unfortunately had to be cancelled after only nine episode due to the low ratings. The May 12th, 1986 actress quickly secured another part in Everwood. Her character Amy Abbott is one of the principal characters. The role she played in the film earned her four Teen Choice Awards nominations and the Young Artist Award.
